Sakthi High School is functioning under the aegis of Sakthi Foundation Trust. Padma Bhushan Dr.N.Mahalingam, the famous industrialist and educationalist was the promoter and president of the foundation. The main objective of this institution is to impart quality education to the rural students.
Sakthi High School started functioning in 05-06-1970 under the administration of C.Kandaswamy the Headmaster. This institution was later shifted to well furnished school building in 1984, which still stars, till now in the Erode district in all education fields. In 1986, Higher Secondary courses were started to fulfil the dreams and needs of the High School Students. This institution has opened up avenues of higher education for the future Indian Citizens Guidance classes for higher education is provided to walk into their dreams. Discipline and knowledge is implemented for the betterment of the students.

Arutchelvar Dr. N Mahalingam was the Founder Chairman of Sakthi Group, 6,000 crore industrial conglomerate operating in sugar, automobiles, finance, power and logistics. Dr. N. Mahalingam was a philanthropist, educationalist and a politician. He established a number of educational institutions and is known for his support to various spiritual and cultural organisations.
He was born on 21 March, 1923 in an agriculture family at Pollachi to P. Nachimuthu Gounder, who started the Sakthi Group in 1921 by diversifying his traditional business of hiring out bullock carts to starting passenger transport services. Nachimuthu Gounder’s only son Dr. N.Mahalingam joined the business in 1943 and helped grow the business to its current level. He was the founder of many educational institutions, from schools to colleges. Some of his educational institutions are Kumaraguru College of Technology, Nachimuthu Polytechnic College, Mahalingam College of Engineering, NGM College, Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture and in his vision started Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science in 2018.
He held several important positions and played major roles fostering the development of agricultural, industrial, human resource and institutional development at the State and National levels. He served as a Member of Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu from 1952 to 1967 and was on the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission for two terms. His social and humanitarian considerations took his journey beyond the boundaries of industries and scholarly tenets he nurtured.
He received the Padma Bhushan award from the Government of India in 2007 for his contributions to the nation in the field of Trade and Industry. His other honors include Honorary Consul from the Government of Mauritius during 1989 to 1992 and a number of other recognition and awards.
The enigmatic life merged into the light on October 2, 2014, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Until the last moment, Dr. NM was doing what he believed and envisioned talking about Saint Vallalar’s philosophy. Throughout his life Dr. NM carried the twin torches of Gandhian values and Vallalar’s way of life and his life is a pathway to lead a life of consciousness.
Dr. M. Manickam, Chairman of the Company, holds a Masters Degree in Statistics from Madras University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of Michigan, USA. He is the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Sakthi Sugars Limited. He is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Sakthi Auto Component Limited. He is also the Chairman of the Governing Council of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, and Nachimuthu Polytechnic College, Pollachi and Vice Chairman of the Governing council of Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore and Correspondent for 5 other Educational Institutions. In recognition of his contribution in the management of agro-processing industries and agricultural development, he was awarded the “Doctor of Science” (Honoris Causa) by Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore in July 2010. He was the President of Indian Sugar Mills Association during 1996-97.
Shri. M. Balasubramaniam, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Company, holds Masters Degree in Commerce from Madras University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame University, USA. He was the Chairman of Coimbatore Zone of Confederation of Indian Industry as also a member of the Management Committee of Coimbatore Management Association. He is presently a senate member in Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. He has under his able leadership the ABT Industries Ltd, which has two major divisions – Dairy and Auto. Holding Directorship in most of the Sakthi Group of Companies he is also serving as the Correspondent of the Kumaraguru College of Technology and Secretary of NachimuthuGounderMahalingam College. He has to his credit the successful operation of the Sakthi Finance, Diary and Auto divisions and the accolade of the running the biggest Tata Dealership in Tamil Nadu. He was Vice Chairman and Chairman of CII during 1997-98 & 1998-99. He is also member in the Indian Chamber of Commerce.
Shri. M. Srinivasan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Mysore University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State of University, USA. He has been the Managing Director of Sri Chamundeswari Sugars Limited since 1996. He has experience of about 22 years in the field of sugar industry. He is also Director of Sakthi Sugars Limited. He was the President of South India Sugar Mills Association, Karnataka between 1997-1999 and 2005-2008. He was also the President of Indian Sugar Mills Association, New Delhi, during the year 2012-13.
